Alfa Romeo GTAm replica

Alfa Romeo GTAm replica built for the Australian Touring Car Masters National Series. This is as it ran in it’s final specification, taking out the 2010 Group 3 Championship title.
Specifications
Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV steel body, modified as per Autodelta blueprints and reference from the Brian Foley factory delivered GTAm. The full homologated fenders, bonnet and boot were all fabricated via moulds taken from the original GTAm as it was delivered here to Australia. The fiberglass doors and 1750 dashboard were supplied by Max at Alfaholics. In total the car weighed in at 875 Kg with the driver. (Minimum category weight for the class being 850Kg).
Racing spec 2000 Alfa Nord engine, built here at the Classic Speed Shop, with 0.050” oversize from standard bore with custom Autodelta GTAm style crankshaft, monosleeve and piston assembly@ 12.5:1 comp ratio supplied by Pace Engineering as was the custom built and ported cylinder head assembly incorporating 8mm stem, 49mm head intake valves and Pace custom billet camshaft combination.
Running a pair of Weber 48DCOE carburetors and compulsory MSD 6AL ignition system limited to 8500 rpm and on regulated 98RON fuel the engine produced 224BHP@8300 RPM.
The close ratio 5 speed box was driven from the custom billet one piece flywheel, via a Powertrain 51/2” twin plate race clutch, and in turn drove a CV joint style tailshaft which transferred the power to the aluminium housing Alfa differential, incorporating a spool centre and choice of 3 ratios, subject to the track.
The suspension components consisted of Bilstein adjustable shock absorbers, with coil over and Custom made aluminium Watts linkage set-up at the rear with Alfaholics custom T45 lower arms and adjustable upper arms at front. 900Lb springs/29mm bar combination was utilized in the front and 250Lb springs/adjustable blade bar at rear.
The exhaust header was a custom in-house triple step primary 4:2:1 design and fabricated by Evolution Motorsport from military grade 321SS supplied by Burns Stainless USA. Side exit system 2 ½” stainless.
Class regulations limited wheel sixe to 8×13 with Hoosier 225/50R13 D.O.T. radials. Wheels were period correct GTAm replica’s supplied by Richard at Classic Alfa. 3 sets in all. Roll cage is T45 Custom build.
